A bold and bright direction for an e-commerce focused email marketing campaign.

Envato Powerweek

Situation

During October, The Envato marketing team runs a Power Week campaign in the lead up to the busiest shopping time of the year ie: Cyber Monday, Christmas, etc. This particular campaign promotes 50% off popular online shopping themes and plugins from Themeforest, Envato's largest and most popular website. With the target audience for this campaign being design professionals, business owners, or potential theme buyers just starting out or looking at updating their current online store.

Task

The goal of the project was to boost online sales of themes and plugins while attracting potential and existing customers. Working closely with the marketing team at Envato a completely different look was required. The previous e-commerce campaigns were drab and uninspired and this time a completely different approach was required. A creative direction needed to be bright and attention-grabbing and completely different in order to attract and engage potential theme and plugin buyers.

Action

The Power Week campaign performed incredibly well resulting in 470+ additional customers with a click-through rate of 5% when launched. The campaign creative was included in social, email, and various on-site ad placements. The approved creative direction was received well from the email marketing team and the broader Envato marketing team.

Results

This particular email campaign was rolled out over five days, each day included a different offering. The final result was to produce different color schemes which represented for each of the days of the sale, whilst also sticking to a mysterious theme. Overall the campaign performed very well, which included a large number of accrued customers and a significant boost in sales.
